The planned price-drop for the Nintendo 3DS is now in effect. The 3DS has fallen from $249.99 to $169.99 at all major retailers. Several retailers lowered the price on the handheld system before the official cut today and some, such as Best Buy, are offering price matching for 3DS systems bought prior to the price drop.

The new Flare Red color for the Nintendo 3DS will be released in Japan on July 14th.  Last year at E3 they did display a red 3DS but this one is a bit darker then what was shown.  Either way its a very beautiful looking piece of gaming fun.  

Sony’s new handheld system the Playstion Vita, wowed everyone with their great specs and a $250 price tag. Many speculators thought the system might go for as high as $400.
